We love dogs and we love supporting charities that help dogs and other animals in need. Below are a few charities that are near and dear to our hearts who have helped us over the years and we love returning the favor.
RASKC (Regional Animal Services of King County) – This is the shelter we got our first rescue, Sadie, from. We have donated food and items to them over the years to keep the animals there comfortable and well fed until they’re adopted.
Rain City Rescue – This rescue organization pulls dogs from high kill shelters and fosters them until they can find their forever home. We got our second rescue Troy, a Georgia boy, from this rescue.
Old Dog Haven – We have a special place in our hearts for senior dogs and this rescue does a fantastic job of helping homeless seniors in their golden years.
Grey Muzzle Organization – Like Old Dog Haven, they help homeless senior dogs get the forever homes they deserve.
Second Chance Dog Rescue (Snyder, TX) – We got Layla from this rescue. They pull dogs from high kill shelters in Texas and put them in foster homes until they can be adopted either locally or to other states that Project Freedom Ride transports to. Their foster families are AMAZING and they do such a good job matching dogs with forever families.
Project Freedom Ride – We wouldn’t have gotten Layla if Project Freedom Ride hadn’t transported her up here. They do great work transporting adoptable dogs and cats from places like Texas that have a huge homeless pet situation.
Blind Dog Rescue Alliance – While we didn’t adopt a dog through them, we did get some good information from them when our first rescue, Sadie, went blind from SARDS. We support their mission to find loving homes for blind dogs.
Second Chances For Blind Dogs – Sylvie created Muffin’s Halo for her blind dog to get around safely without bumping into obstacles. Second Chances For Blind Dogs is the charity she set up to raise funds to give Muffin’s Halos to blind dogs in need free of charge to the owner or rescue organization.
